SummerDay, Sunday 29 January 2012
As part of Adelaide Hills Crush Festival, Paracombe held a long, leisurely lunch. Hot outside, it was cool inside and everyone had a great time. Whilst there was a wide array of different foods, we think we put a new meaning to community eating as our guests enjoyed sharing freshly cooked blue swimmer crabs at our high tables and made a few new friends in the process.
Local artist, Kath O’Callaghan’s paintings were also a great success and she sold a number of pieces on the day. Live chilled music added to the experience, but we think the blue swimmer crabs might just have stolen the show. Caught the day before by Paul Drogemuller and his mates, cooked in sea water and served plain they really are something special in South Australia, and of course, a perfect match for any of our whites. We are gearing up for vintage
and the vineyards are looking magnificent with beautiful lush canopies and good grape set. Of course, you can never tell what mother nature will deliver, but at this point we are looking forward to a very promising 2012 vintage.
