Paracombe Wines The Reuben 2005
The Reuben sings a song to a different tempo. It is a quintet with cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, cabernet franc and merlot making up the chorus. This is a fragrant, fruit driven wine named for Reuben Chapman an early Paracombe settler who could have told us a thing or two about this prime fruit growing in this neck of the woods.
Ross Noble, The Courier December 2009
Paracombe Wines The Reuben 2004
Good hue; a large volume of predominately blackcurrant fruit with the added complexity of an amazing blend of 6 clones of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) Merlot (14%) Cabernet Franc (12%) Malbec (8%) Shiraz (6%)
90 Points, James Halliday, Wine Companion 2009
This pitches cool–climate style, and some savoury bottle–derived maturity adds interest. Not exactly Rubenesque: rhubarb and dried cassis, liqueured fruits, leaves and mint. Very supple palate, more mint and berries here, subtle spices and a dense, resolute finish. Like a ripe luncheon claret!
Nick Stock, The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2009, 91 points
Sniff the Rhurbarb is the invitation from Paul and Kathy Drogemuller after unscrewing the cap of their multi – blended red. The Reuben. Indeed, poached rhubarb is there but there are also hints of stewed prunes and even leatherwood” A finely structured palate....rich fruit flavours, interesting spice and savoury notes” are other observations of the pair from Paracombe in the north west of the Adelaide Hills region. A savoury, spicy amalgam of rich fruit flavours, The Reuben is a wine that would go down well with cottage pie or perhaps pizza.
Ross Noble, The Courier January 2009
Paracombe Wines Cabernet Franc 2006
Plenty of perfume, with tight red berry fruit, a little spice and a savoury, slightly earthy, high acid finish.
James Halliday, Wine Companion 2010, 87 Points
Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Wild, ripe and rich, cabernet from one of the Hills’ warmer sites, with full turbo–power from start to finish, sweet oak and spicy black berry fruit. Quite opposite to many Hills reds; fasten your seat belts.

Shows a nice level of cassis and savoury bramble complexity; the palate is quite find and the tannins plentiful; a well–balanced finish. James Halliday, Wine Companion 2010, 90 points
Paracombe WinesCabernet Sauvignon 2004
Good hue; fresh red and blackcurrant fruit on both bouquet and the medium–bodied, lively palate; Paracombe does tend to keep one guessing.
92 Points, James Halliday, Wine Companion 2009
Paracombe Wines Shiraz 2006
is the epitome of Adelaide Hills shiraz at its best; rich, spicy fruit that lingers on the taste buds. Dark ruby in colour, with cherry, plum and pepper on the bouquet, the wine has layer upon layer of fruit flavour, enhanced by dark chocolate and vanillin French Oak. Ross Noble,

Paracombe Wines Shiraz 2004
Bouquet is rich and chocolaty, with some savoury notes. Almost tarry in the mouth. Lovely flavours.
Winestate Magazine, May/June 2008 – five stars
Flavours of blackberry and licorice.

Shiraz Viognier 2006
A spicy medium–bodied bouquet, with an attractive overlay of perfume; the palate is juicy on entry, and offers a slight silky quality to the finish.
James Halliday, Wine Companion 2010, 92 Points
Paracombe Wines Shiraz Viognier 2005
The addition of viognier to Adelaide Hills shiraz works extremely well: sweet dark spices and rich ripe fruits, some liquorice and earlty complexity, brooding dark fruits and spice. The palate’s sweetly fruited with deep ripe flavours, plums and red berries, super ripe tannins.

Paracombe Wines Somerville Shiraz 2005
Rob: Intense, sweet fruit, soft tannins – a very South Australian peppery wine.
Scott: Fresh Rhubarb notes on the nose, with good lifted complexity. Rich porty notes, excellent balance and fruit retention.
Michael: A soft wine, with excellent intensity of flavour.
Drinks Trade Magazine June 2009
Incredibly deep colour; very ripe and pushing the boundary a little, as the aromas step into the liqueur end of the spectrum; the palate is dense and thickly textured, and the alcohol has a noticeable presence; massively proportioned this wine is not for everyone, but there is plenty to ruminate over.
James Halliday, Wine Companion 2010, 93 Points
Paracombe Wines Pinot Noir 2007
Attractive, pristine cherry fruit, typical Paracombe freshness– it pervades every whine they make. A burst of red floral fragrance and spices, then cherries and raspberry nuances, quite ripe. The palate has neatly shaped, straight–shooting red fruit appeal, delivering balanced, fresh and easy drinking style.
Nick Stock, The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010 Score 90 points four stars
Paracombe Wines Pinot Noir 2006
A real strawberries and cream style, very bright, sweet fruit aromas and simple fruit– driven appeal, the oak sweetens it up, adds some chocolate too. It fans out across a light bed of fine tannin, building cherry flavour and some more savoury notes on the palate, a balanced, early–drinking pinot.
